Course Summary
This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to educates participants how to carry out tasks safely whilst working in the construction industry. If you intend to work in the construction industry in Australia, you may need a Construction Induction card or what is commonly called as “White Card”. Prepare to work safely in the construction industry unit of competency requires personnel to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety, in order to prevent injury or harm to self and others. This course covers:
Identifying relevant standards & legislation requirements related to working on a construction site
Identifying construction hazards & understanding risk control measures Identify ways to communicate with superiors and workers on site Identifying responsibilities and rights of workers & supervisors on site Applying safe work practices whilst working on construction sites
identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents & emergencies
correctly selecting & fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
