Course Summary

Welcome to the training course on Section J of Volume One of the National Construction Code Series (NCC) – Building Code of Australia (BCA) Class 2 to Class 9 Buildings.

This course is written in conjunction with the Association of Accredited Certifiers (AAC).

This course deals with energy efficiency in commercial buildings, and we will be looking at Parts J1 (Building Fabric) and J2 (Glazing).

Topics covered in this course include:

  1. Introduction and background to Section J
  2. The Building Envelope
  3. Examples of Building Types
  4. Part J1 - Building Fabric
  5. Part J2 - Glazing
  6. Part J3 - Building Sealing
  7. Conclusion

Upon completion of this course, you will have acquired an overview of the Section J1, J2 and J3; The Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions, and how to assess if these provisions have been addressed properly in Construction Certificate applications.

A series of online closed questions that are auto marked; questions are directly related to the learning material covered in the course.

Participants are required to achieve a pass rate of 80% to successfully complete the course.

The course allows up to three (3) attempts to successfully complete all the assessment questions.

Participants will be sent a CPD certificate by email upon successful completion of the course materials and assessment process.
