Satisfactory completion of this unit allows you to apply for a White Card with WorkSafe Tasmania. Attain a Statement of Attainment for the CPCWHS1001​ - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry​ (White Card) unit of competency.

This training course covers the mandatory work health and safety training which is required prior to undertaking construction work.  You will demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to yourself or others around you.

This unit covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies.

The unit also covers the correct selection and fitting of common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

You will still be required to undertake site-specific induction training prior to the commencement of construction work.

The unit of competency CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry is a nationally accredited unit of competency. By completing the course, you will receive a statement of attainment.
