Course Summary

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the structure of the National Construction Code 2022 (NCC 2022) and the types of plumbing and drainage installations and buildings it covers.
  2. Explain how the NCC is given legal effect and how this may affect how NCC 2022 applies in different situations.
  3. Recognise important concepts for understanding the NCC including Governing Requirements and building classifications.
  4. Understand the performance-based nature of the NCC and the NCC compliance pathways.
  5. Identify some of the major changes to NCC 2022 compared to NCC 2019.

This course includes:

  1. What the National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 is and the performance-based nature of the NCC.
  2. What the NCC 2022 does and doesn’t cover.
  3. How the NCC 2022 is given legal effect and where it fits into building and plumbing regulatory systems.
  4. Applying the NCC and transitions, variations, and additions.
  5. The structure and set out of the NCC and its volumes.
  6. NCC Governing Requirements and building classifications.
  7. NCC compliance solutions and assessment methods.
  8. The major differences between NCC 2019 and 2022
