Course Summary
This course is designed to provide you with the underpinning knowledge and skills you need to safely erect and dismantle basic scaffolding, and undertake the assessment for the National High Risk Work Licence – SB issued by Workplace Standards Tasmania.
Our experienced Construction team will equip you with the skills you need to plan and prepare work, erect scaffolding/equipment, and inspect, repair and alter scaffolding. You’ll also learn how to dismantle scaffolding correctly and undertake site clean-up.
In this course, you will focus on prefabricated scaffolds, cantilevered hoists (maximum working load of 500kg materials), ropes and gin wheels, safety nets and bracket scaffolds for licensing purposes.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit completed, and be able to apply for National High Risk Work Licence – SB through WorkSafe Tasmania. The licence is valid for five years.
Note– You must be 18 years of age and comply with the requirements outlined in the application for high-risk work published by WorkSafe Tasmania and have a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy.
