Course Summary

This initiative is part of the Cross-Industry Skills Training Project and is supported by funding from the COAG Energy Council National Energy Productivity Plan through a project managed by the Government of South Australia.

This course will provide you with an overview of the Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions for Section J, specifically the requirements for the Building Fabric, Glazing and Building Sealing.

Upon completion of this course the learner will:

  • Build their knowledge of the overall aims and objectives of Section J
  • Understand the requirements to demonstrate compliance with Section J
  • Be able to determine whether a Deemed-to-Satisfy Solution is appropriate for a building
  • Develop an understanding of the Deemed-to-Satisfy Provisions of the NCC Volume 1 for building energy efficiency, in particular its application to the building fabric (including roofs/ceilings, walls and floors, roof lights, glazing, building sealing) and
  • Knowing what to look for when reviewing an assessment report

  • Design, Building and Trade Professionals
  • Construction Site and Contract Coordinators
  • Building Product Manufacturers, Sales, Specifiers and Installers
  • Regulatory Professionals, Surveyors and Certifiers

The National Energy Efficient Building Project (NEEBP) aims to support consumers, government and industry to achieve better energy efficiency in new buildings, renovations and additions.
