Carry Out Work-based Risk. Estimate and Cost Work/Design and Size units are separate courses to be completed online with virtual online classes to support the students.

For the Carry Out Work-based Risk, Size and Design and Estimate and Cost work subjects, we recommend these units be started after the Service Type A gas appliances and Controls assessments is completed.

CPCPCM4011 Carry out Work-based Risk Processes

Is the first unit to be completed online that covers completing several work-based risk assessments to create a JSA and SWMS.

•  CPCPCM4012 Estimate and Cost Work

Includes virtual class support
•  Completion required within 3 months from commencement:
•  Approx: 35 hrs Total

Software – Computers and setting up your tools

  • Learning how to use a computer and associated software to complete the units
    •  Approximately 16 hours to complete
    •  Includes:
    »  Setting up your laptop:
    »  How to use Open Office- Word, Calc and Draw.
    »  Converting to PDF.
    »  Setting up your file systems.
    »  Using Spreadsheets effectively.
    »  How to draw isometrics, plans, and elevation for pipework.
    »  Assembling estimates and quotes.
    »  Pipe sizing through electronic templates.

CPCPGS4011 Design and Size Consumer Gas Installations

This subject is to be completed in 60 days from the end of the enrolment month

Approximately 10-15 hrs to complete

  • Includes:
    »  #0 Create a SWMS- JSA for a job
  • »  #1 Natural #2 LP Gas systems single stage.
    »  #3 Caravan RV gas system – Including Materials take-off sheets, pipe sizing,
  • »  #4 Marine gas system – Including Materials take-off sheets, pipe sizing,
  • »  #5 Two-stage gas pressure systems LPG- with Flues design
    , drawings of the design, and compliance documents.

Each of the projects will have due dates to be completed,

CPCPCM4012 Estimate and Cost Work

This subject is to be completed in 30 days from the end of the enrolment month

  • Approximately 10-15 hrs to complete
    •  The student is required to complete 3 estimate and cost projects.
  • Pre-learning lessons assessments
  • Assessment 1 - Villa 1 3 gas appliances
  • Assessment 2 - Villa 2 3 gas appliances
  • Assessment 3 - Gas supply natural gas from Service meter to Villa 1&2
    •  Includes:
    »  Using the ‘take-off ‘sheets, supply a quote estimate, project plan, and what compliance will be required for each of the three projects.

These units are designed to be completed together, so the student commences with the easier subject the carrying out risk and then progresses to the estimate and cost projects and completes the Design and Size subject.
