The content of this course will focus on middle level management of contracts. It includes the management of others who are delivering civil contracts, the key topics include; 

  • The importance of reporting
  • Qualifying causes of delay and extensions of time
  • Compensable causes and delay costs
  • Time bars
  • Liquidated damages
  • Variation Processes
  • Payment processes
  • Termination and dispute processes
  • Limitations of liability
  • Insurances
  • General understanding of contract forms (Agreement, schedules, appendices)

Learning Outcomes:

This course will give participants (who are already familiar with the fundamentals of contracts) knowledge on contracts and how to manage direct reports who are involved in contract management. It will do this in a very practical way and, very importantly, apply the learning in a civil construction context. 

Who Should Attend This course is for those who either have direct reports who are involved in delivering contracts (such as leading hands, site supervisors, engineers, project managers), or those after a deeper understanding of contracts in the civil industry.
