CTF's Construction Futures Centre Visit

Keystone’s CEO Dr Karin Mathison and Communications Manager Lisa Jekimovics visited the Construction Training Fund’s Construction Futures Centre in Perth, Western Australia last week. The Construction Training Fund (CTF) is a Statutory Authority for the construction workforce, and is Keystone's Western Australian counterpart.

The Construction Futures Centre is an interactive space for school-aged students and adults to explore a variety of trades within the building and construction industry. This venue is free to explore, with the goal of getting students and jobseekers interested in the variety of careers the building and construction industry has to offer.

Karin said "It was great opportunity to collaborate ideas and discuss operational goals with the CTF Team. While we don't have the same population scale, there were many similarities in how we distribute funds back to industry."

Lisa said “Joining a group of Fremantle College students visiting the centre was a highlight. Some students aspired to become bricklayers or electricians while others asked what construction pathways gave them the best leg-up into a career in the resources sector. My favourite group, were the ones who didn’t know yet, but were keen to make the most of the experience.”
