Course Summary

If you have already completed the 5-day initial ‘WHS for Health and Safety Representatives Course’ and you hold a position as a Health and Safety Representative (HSR), it might be time for you to refresh your knowledge!

This course is approved by Worksafe Tasmania for annual training that Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) are entitled to under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.

Brush up on your work health and safety (WHS) knowledge and skills so you can continue to contribute to building effective, compliant WHS systems, positive cultures and performance in your work group and workplace. This one-day session includes a recap of learning outcomes from the initial course, changes in WHS legislation, as well as skills development related to your HSR role.

You will refresh your HSR skills to represent workers in your workgroup by:

  • interpreting and applying WHS legislation to solve problems
  • using the risk management process and hierarchy of control
  • consulting, communicating and issue resolution to foster continual WHS improvement
  • contributing to health and safety committees, WHS procedures and managemen
  • preventing and investigating incidents.

During the day, you will put your knowledge and skills into practice through a range of hands-on group activities, role plays and scenarios.

This course is ideal for businesses wishing to train groups of staff and can also be delivered at your workplace. Talk to us today to find out how this could work for your business.
