Course Summary

These skill sets are for individuals seeking approval through their State/Territory Transport Agency who will be responsible for stopping and starting traffic in Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) on urban streets and low volume rural roads and for traffic management implementation on Temporary Traffic Management Category 1 environments as described in the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management.

The combined Traffic Controller 1 (TC1) and Traffic Management Implementer 1 (TMI 1) course will run over 3 days.
The first 2 days will focus on the theory aspects of the units with the 3rd day being dedicated to the practical application.

4th Day - TMI Practical Assessment -  this part involves learners demonstrating their skills and knowledge developed from the classroom. This involves completing a minimum of three (3) set up and three (3) pack ups you require to obtain your statement of attainment.

Please note: You have the option to complete this at your own work place and get a supervisor report completed by your supervisor.

CivilEdge can also assist you in completing this step for an additional $200.

Post course (TC1) - Learners are required to complete 20 hours of practical training experience (work-placement) within 6 months following the formal instructional sessions of the course.
During work-placement, learners will be required to keep a logbook (provided) of their 20-hours of practical training experience.
The final practical assessment (post completion of the 20 hours) will be conducted in a live traffic scenario under supervision.

NOTE: During work-placement learners will be required to provide their own PPE.

Post course (TMI1) – within a 6-month period of completing the theoretical component of the course, the learner will be required to complete 3 different set-ups based on Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes relevant to their working conditions.
