Course Summary

This course is an introduction to what is project management on civil projects, covering

  • Project definition, scope, description and life cycle elements
  • Project management systems and controls, including those used for;

    - Cost control, time and quality outcomes 
    - Quality control and outcomes
    - Cost management , including cash flow and project financing principles
    - Time management, including programming/scheduling setting and monitoring.
    - Risk management
    - Sub-contractors

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will gain;

  • A theoretical understanding of project management techniques for civil engineering projects;
  • Practical information on the implementation of effective project management techniques and methodologies to ensure the delivery of best value outcomes on civil projects, including those relevant to cost, quality, time and risk control
