Course Summary
This St John Ambulance first aid course is a half-day full of practical activities and assessments, with all theoretical learning completed online at your own pace before you step into the classroom. It covers a comprehensive range of topics to enable participants to manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty.
Teaching you how to confidently handle the most common first aid injuries and illnesses.
St John Ambulance recommends, as per the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, that first aid skills are renewed every 3 years and resuscitation skills (HLTAID009/HLTAID015) are renewed every 12 months.
Participants MUST complete an e-learning module and online written assessment before attending the half day face-to-face practice and assessment. The online pre-work is 3-4 Hours of online theory.
The online theory and assessment is a pre-requisite.
Failure to do so will result in not being able to attend.
This course is appropriate for those who enjoy a fast paced learning environment and complete their training regularly.
Certificate
On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment in:
– HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
– HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
– HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
