Course Summary

This unit of competence has been drawn from the nationally endorsed industry training package UET - Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector. On successfully completing the training and assessment, a Statement of Attainment (SoA) for the unit UETDRMP009 Perform tower rescue. The unit of competency is nationally recognised and provides individuals with a valuable qualification that can be applied throughout Australia.

This course will provide the candidates with skills and knowledge to undertake rescue from various structures.

As a result of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Access, interpret and apply technical and safety information for tower rescue
  • Assess hazards and risks associated with tower rescue
  • Select, inspect, donn, doff and caring for PPE
  • Identify the most appropriate rescue systems for retrieval of the worker
  • Correctly fitting, adjusting and anchor fall protection systems and rescue systems
  • Perform simulated rescue from towers
  • Use hauling lowering systems
  • Dismantle, remove, inspect safety systems
