Course Summary

Course Description

  • Plan and prepare for gantry/overhead crane operations
  • Operate gantry/overhead crane
  • Perform gantry/overhead crane operator maintenance

This course is designed for an overhead head or gantry crane that has 3 functions (ie north/south, east/west, up/down are 3 functions) or less and is controlled by a remote or pendant.

If the crane has 3 or more powered functions and/or is operated from a permanent cabin or control station then a TLILIC0016 Licence to Operate a Bridge and Crane CB, HRWL is required.

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate a gantry or overhead crane, including planning and preparing and performing operational servicing.

The work required in this unit relates to the National Standard for High Risk Work but this unit does not provide the licence.
