COURSE OUTLINE
The course will give candidates an understanding of the requirements for the safe loading, securing and unloading a minimum of three types of machines.
TOPICS INCLUDE
- Plan & Prepare
- Chain of Responsibility
- Positioning the load
- Equipment requirements
- Lashing points
- Serviceability of chains and equipment
- Safe loading areas
- Workplace inspections
TARGET AUDIENCE
Any personnel involved in or associated with the loading, securing and unloading of equipment including those responsible for consigning and receiving.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Plan & prepare the area and equipment for relocation
- Load plant/equipment
- Secure plant/equipment
- Unload plant/equipment
- Develop an understanding of chain of responsibility
- Develop an understanding load restraint systems
PPE REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate high visibility work attire, safety glasses, safety boots & gloves.
Upon successful completion candidates will be issued with a statement of attainment for the above-mentioned unit.
