Course Summary

This nationally recognised course covers both the theoretical and practical aspects of Loading and Unloading Cargo/Goods. The delivery will include the skills and knowledge required to load and unload goods and cargo in accordance with relevant state/territory roads and traffic authority regulations/permit requirements, securing and protecting a load and completing all required documentation. Undertaking load and unload cargo/goods training will involve the following:

  • Lifting aids and appliance selection (in accordance with workplace procedures and safety legislation)
  • Unloading activities (conducted in a safe and efficient manner taking into account suitable locations, stowage, safe use of equipment and balance of remaining load)
  • Identifying goods that require special handling and/or documentation
  • Securing a load using correct load restraint and protection equipment for different loads, carrying and storage conditions
  • Job hazard identification
