Course Summary

This course provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to implement and monitor an organisation’s work health and safety (WHS) policies, and procedures, to meet legislative requirements and ensure a safe workplace. WHS Leadership tools:

  • Understand the WHS regulatory framework and how it applies to your workplace
  • Know and understand your WHS responsibilities and duties
  • Effectively communicate key WHS information to work teams
  • Implement WHS consultation procedures, deal with WHS issues and monitor controls
  • Implement and monitor WHS training
  • Implement and monitor risk management procedures and controls
  • Maintain WHS records for the work group

DEIVERY METHODS

On-site delivery: Training will be delivered at our site or the client’s sites.

Participants attend a one-day training workshop where a range of practical activities are undertaken to learn and practice the WHS leadership tools. Assessment is completed during the workshop with some referencing to on-the-job application, statements of attainment issued upon completion.

PRE-ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must be able to:

  • Read, interpret and apply WHS work instructions/procedures
  • Interpret numerical information (e.g. risk assessment, work permit, etc.)
  • Complete relevant work documentation (e.g. risk assessment, work permit, etc.)
