Course Summary

The High Voltage Switching Operate, Develop & Perform course is designed for students to gain High Voltage (HV) experience whilst attaining the formal training to allow them to write switching sheets and perform switching operations.

This course delivers in-depth training on how to safely perform duties of a High Voltage Switching Operator. This course is a Nationally Recognised course which has been written to meet the requirements of the latest training packages; UEP – Electricity Supply Industry – Generation Sector Training Package and UET – Transmission, Distribution and Rail Sector Training Package.

The course is suitable for Electrical workers, technicians and engineers involved with maintaining high voltage electrical equipment. We cover the legislation, theory and practical aspect of high voltage installations and maintenance. Volt Edge students who hold an unrestricted electrical licence (or meet the pre-requisite units) are eligible to gain a Statement of Attainment with competencies from the UET Transmission Package and UEP Generation package as listed below. All other students will gain a Statement of Attainment from the UEP Generation Package only.

Duration and Mode of Delivery

3 day course face to face.

~ Face to Face training is available in Brisbane, Mackay, Sydney, Melbourne and Onsite (HV Trailer is also available for Hire) with LIVE WEB Training still available ~

*Our Course is now available via LIVE WEB Training – interact with your trainer and assessor live as if you were in the classroom. Trainer will work through your theory, show you videos and be available whilst you complete your written assessments. Then you will complete your practical by writing your switching sheet and Switch on a SCADA Schematic.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the skills to:
→ Operate and perform local H.V. switching.
→ Develop H.V. switching programs.
→ Control permit to work operations.

Pre-Requisites

UEPOPS listed units above there are no pre-requisite requirements except for the UEPOPS117 – Volt Edge require a pre-requisite to be met to gain this unit as part of the course.

UEPOPS117 – will require you to complete a Volt Edge HV Switching course and hold an Unrestricted EL.

If you do not meet the pre-requisite then you can undertake the UEPOPS117 unit as a stand alone to gain all the required skills and knowledge to meet the requirements to be issued a Statement of Attainment.
