Course Summary

Course Objectives

This unit places responsibility on individual employees who are delegated responsibility as part of an emergency control organisation to participate in the preparation of facility emergency procedures; alert and report potential facility emergencies; evaluate the need to evacuate a specific area; prepare for an evacuation; and assist people who may require assistance, in accordance with facility emergency procedures. The knowledge and skills gained through the completion of this unit may be applied by employees across all industries.

Course Outline

✓ Undertake pre-emergency planning

✓ Take appropriate actions in an emergency

✓ Assist with post emergency activities

Assessment

Participants will be assessed via questionnaire and practical demonstration of skills. Participants with literacy/numeracy difficulties or physical conditions should speak with the Trainer to discuss alternative assessment approaches. Applicants will be required to undertake physical activity to meet all the assessment criteria to a satisfactory level.

Qualification

On successful completion, each participant will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.
