Course Summary

This session covers reading and interpreting plans and specifications and their relationship to creating an estimate for the project.

By the end of workshop, the participants will have an understanding of the value of good estimating, as well as sound estimation techniques including:

  • Quantity takeoffs
  • Supplier inquiries
  • Normal estimating production rates
  • Direct Cost Assessments
  • Indirect Cost Assessment
  • Contingencies
  • Preliminaries and other allowances

Leading Hands/Supervisors/Graduate Engineers/Bid teams/Estimators and anyone who is part of the estimating process or wishes to understand civil estimating
