Course Summary
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the implementation of planning and response procedures for emergencies and to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to plan, conduct and report on investigations of work health and safety (WHS) incidents that have the potential to, or have resulted in, injury or damage.
The premise of this course is that participants will be able to participate in the emergency and incident management process of the organisations OHS Management System (OHSMS) by using the following methodology:
Applying the RISK-BASED APPROACH defined by ISO 31000, WHS legislation and supporting Codes of Practice to identify potential emergency situations or other potential risks to health and safety and develop a corresponding risk register.
Using the CRITERIA for emergency preparedness and response detailed in ISO 45001, AS 3745 and AS 4083 to develop emergency and incident response procedures; and
Develop a PROCESS based on legislative requirements and the requirements for continuous improvement in ISO 45001 for the reporting, conducting an investigation and determining the actions to be taken to determine and manage incidents.
