Course Summary

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to operate tractors and use attachments safely, effectively and efficiently according to workplace procedures, including:

• performing pre-start checks prior to commencing operations;

• driving and operating the equipment, and adjusting techniques to site conditions;

• completing a variety of tractor operations such as post hole digging; spraying herbicides/fertilisers; mowing/slashing; lifting; sweeping; blade based functions;

• fitting, using and removing at least two different certified and approved attachments, such as a front blade; slasher; mower; rotary hoe; concrete mixer; spraying equipment; disc plough;

• using a range of communication techniques and equipment essential to the safe completion of the work activity;

• written and verbal reporting.
