Course Summary
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to operate a self-propelled compactor to perform towing, spreading, levelling and compacting, safely, effectively.
performing pre-start checks prior to commencing operations;
• driving and operating the equipment, and adjusting techniques to suit site conditions;
• completing of a minimum of two self-propelled compactor operations, compacting a different material on each of the two occasions;
• parking and securing equipment;
• using a range of communication techniques and equipment essential to the safe completion of the work activity;
• written and verbal reporting.
