Course Summary
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to operate a wheeled front end loader safely, effectively and efficiently according to workplace procedures, including:
- Pre-start checks prior to commencing operations
- Driving and operating the equipment to site conditions
- Completing operations using at least two different types of material
- Lifting and carrying materials
- Assisting with loading and unloading wheeled front end loader from float/trailer
- Using a range of communication techniques and equipment essential to the safe completion of work activities
- Parking and securing equipment
- Site clean-up
- Written and verbal reporting
Please Note: This course does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, individuals must either complete, or be assisted by someone who has completed, RIIHAN308F Load and Unload Plant.
