Course Summary

Our UEE42622 – Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas course is available to students nation wide. Our students undertake the Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) 5 day course set of competencies, then undertake an extra 4-5 units of competency which we refer to as Gap Training online self paced to fulfil the requirements of the qualification.

UEE42622 Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas – Electrical (Cert IV HA) training is the qualification that can be achieved by completing the following:
→ EEHA Skillset: Pre-selected units by Volt Edge (delivered face to face including upgrade options)
→ Online self-paced units: Cert IV Gap Training **
→ Credit Transfer: 1 competency (from students electrical licence and transcript that hold a unit that can be used. If not you will be required to complete an online self-paced unit in gap training to meet the points requirements) *

EEHA - Structured Training Component

This Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) course covers the principles of hazardous area installation, maintenance, inspections, and breakdowns of explosion-protection equipment with a high emphasis of practical inspections. Our Hazardous Area Training course has been designed with a new starter in mind but with enough technical knowledge to stimulated the most educated student. So if you plan to work in the LNG industry, Coal industry, or petrochemical industries then Volt Edge is the training provider you need when completing your Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas. Endorsement offered for Ex ‘d’, Ex ‘e’, Ex ‘i’, Ex ‘m’, Ex ‘n’, Ex ‘p’, Ex ‘t’, Ex ‘m’, Ex ‘pD’ and mixed explosion-protection techniques.

Online self-paced units: Cert IV Gap Training
There are 4 to 5 units of competency required to be completed online self paced once you have completed the EEHA structured face to face course. One of the units may be credit transferred from your previous nationally recognised training.

Content Delivery

Delivered in a 5 day holistic theory and assessment block during the face to face delivery.

The Volume of Learning for this program will comprise of:

→ 40 hours of workbook reading (Not mandatory).

→ 45 hours of supervised instruction including:

→ 30 hours of supervised theory instruction and discussions.

→ 15 hours of supervised assessment activities (written and practical).

→ Up to 10 hours of capstone assessment (online) including revision if required.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the full course including the Theory, Practical and online components, you will receive a qualification in the UEE42622 Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas - Electrical.

You will gain the skills to:

→ Take actions to limit risk of an explosion.

→ Prepare to attend breakdown.

→ Install the equipment and wiring systems.

→ Complete maintenance work inspections and documentation.

→ Conduct testing.

→ Select and check equipment, wiring and accessories.

It is the Students responsiblity to provide a copy of your Unrestricted Electrical Licence or Certificate III in Electrotechnology qualification prior to enrolling. Refer to training.gov.au for further details.
