The students, joined by Derwent Valley Mayor, Michelle Dracoulis, Beacon Foundation School Coordinator, Renee Potter, New Norfolk High School Principal, Stuart Lord, and Keystone representatives were excited to receive such a special presentation of their PPE in preparation for their upcoming adventure.
Peter generously donated 30 pairs of FXD Boots to the program, as well as spent time visiting and fitting student participants from various schools.
A state-wide pre-employment program for the Tasmanian building and construction industry, Boots On – Building Work Experience, has been developed and funded by Keystone Tasmania in response to industry demand for work-ready individuals across all sectors. As a priority action under the 2021 Tasmanian Building and Construction Industry Workforce Action Plan, Boots On will create more appropriate and meaningful work experience and work placement opportunities for school-aged learners, job seekers, job shifters, women and migrants.
The Boots On program offers school students and adult jobseekers the opportunity to undertake introductory modules of accredited training and real, on-the-job work placements in various roles across industry.
We sincerely thank Peter for his incredible support of Boots On, and encourage everyone to remember Wicked Workwear for all your work clothing and PPE gear.
