Course Summary
This skills set (MSMSS00019 Operate a drain cleaning system) is targeted to those personnel requiring a more in-depth knowledge of industrial drain cleaning operations, managing worksites, safe work practices, associated law, emergency and rescue practices. This course provides a drain cleaning operator with the necessary knowledge to supervise a drain cleaning operation and be responsible for a crew of drain cleaning workers.
All Class B cleaning operations should comply with the AS/NZS 4233.1:2013 High pressure water (hydro) jetting systems and Safe Work Australia Guide for Managing Risks from High Pressure Water Jetting.
Course Description
Candidates will be permitted by this course and be equipped with skills and knowledge to undertake work involving high pressure water jetting Class B operations.
As a result of this program, candidates will be able to:
- assess hazards and risk associated with high pressure water jetting
- select, inspect, donn, doff and caring for PPE
- identify the most appropriate safety systems for work associated with high pressure drain cleaning
- Operate a high pressure drain cleaning system
